Benefits of MembershipA great location right on the beach! Sun, sand and surf AND MORE! A community - with just over 550 members, the Toronto Windsurfing Club is a vibrant, diverse and active community of windsurfers. Members are very active sailors with a range of interests, from racing, freestyle or just recreational sailing. The club is very supportive of new sailors! A clubhouse - an ample building with a patio, parking and changing rooms. The clubhouse has a kitchen with refrigerator and water cooler. Our clubhouse is a classroom and meeting room. Equipment Storage - the club has reasonably priced storage in shipping containers onsite; however, storage is popular and almost always full. Spaces provide enough room for 1-2 boards, mast, sail and boom. You MUST join our waitlist and be APPROVED for storage. Click here to join the waitlist. Free parking - on a weekday there is ample parking, on a weekend it's tight. The good news is that there's a lot of free parking within a 1-2 minute walk. We can also be reached very easily by bike or transit. Equipment and instruction (available to the public) - the club offers adult learn to windsurf classes, private lessons and a summer camp for those 17 and under. You don't have to be a member to sign up for lessons but we do encourage graduates to become part of the Toronto Windsurfing Club. The club instructors are often on site and happy to offer advice or guidance if they have time. Safety boats - the Toronto Windsurfing Club has 4 power boats. These boats are shared by different club programs but can be used to rescue members who need assistance. However, rescue is not a guarantee and as a water user you should only sail in conditions appropriate to your skill and experience. The sailing area close to Cherry Beach is monitored by Toronto Marine Police during the summer months. To drive the club boats there are certain requirements you must meet. Other benefits include:
Racing and events - the club hosts are variety of events and races throughout the year providing members with an opportunity to get to know one another and improve their skills. Visit our Event Calendar for more details. Cost of Membership
