Make New Friends and Improve Your Skills!

CMWA Championships

The Canadian Masters Windsurfing Association hosts an annual championship longboard racing weekend within driving distance of TWC, usually in July. You'll see a lot of familiar faces and make some new friends.

For more info, contact Artem Lavrynenko.

Kona World Championships

Many TWC racers head to Kona World Championship each year. The Konas are a fun and friendly competition attended by racers of all abilities from all over the world. The races are usually spread out over four days and feature "gold" and "silver" classes, so there is something for everyone.

Kona is a one-design class where everyone sails the same board and sails are assigned according to a sailor's weight, leveling the field. Men and women race together and the atmosphere on the water is festive.

The location changes each year, but it's always spectacular. Best of all, you can rent your kit onsite so no need to own your own!

If you're interested in attending, ask around at Wednesday Night Racing or contact Artem Lavrynenko for more info.

OBX Wind

Part of the International Windsurfing Tour, OBX Wind is a week-long festival attracting hundreds of windsurfers of all abilities from all over the world to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

Famous for its flat and shallow waters, Hatteras is an ideal place to progress. The OBX Wind festival offers clinics, racing and freestyle competitions. The marquee event is the long-distance shortboard race, a 12km figure-eight.

TWC rents several large houses at the event site (each can accommodate eight people). Groceries and cooking duties are shared. Participants arrange their own transport and most people bring their own gear, however limited gear is also available for rent. Contact Jeff Martin for more information.
